Liberty
Science Center, located at New Jersey’s booming Jersey City waterfront,
celebrated its grand reopening July 19, 2007, following a 22-month,
$109 million upgrade of its exhibition, program and theater experiences.
The centerpiece of this reinvention was the unveiling of Skyscraper!
Achievement and Impact. This 1,300 sq. meter exhibition uses
interactive elements, artifacts and innovative technology to teach
guests about the world of tall buildings and the unique habitat they
create. Skyscraper! was made possible through such groups as the
National Science Foundation and CTBUH, is the world’s largest and
tallest exhibition on these amazing structures.
Now through Liberty Science Center’s Experience Services, the museum is
providing award winning development and design skills to projects in
such diverse locations as Puerto Rico, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Experience Services is currently exploring a concept for expanding and
enlarging the Skyscraper! experience for the Middle East. Through these
efforts coupled with its exhibition and education programs, Liberty
Science Center has become globally acclaimed and recognized as being on
the vanguard of redefining the role of a science center and
seeking new ways to offer greater public service.
