Craig GibbonsArup Craig
Gibbons is the Country Director for Arup in the U.A.E., and leads the
office in Dubai. He is also a member of Arup's Global Building Sector
Board. In addition, he is the leader of the Tall Building Design
network within the firm.He moved to Dubai six months ago and is presently leading the design of a number of significant projects in the region. Prior to moving to Dubai, he was a Director in the Arup office in Hong Kong. He was responsible for many high-rise developments in Hong Kong, Korea and China - these include the 420m tall 2 International Finance Centre, and the geometrically challenging CCTV Headquarters building in Beijing. One of the key aspects of a number of projects in which he has been involved is the adoption of a construction-led approach to design, geared to improving construction efficiency. Another aspect which features in many of the projects he has been involved with is the need for energy efficiency and a sustainable approach - each capitalizing on the latest technology in terms of design and implementation. Craig graduated from Sheffield University in the UK where he also received his doctorate in the field of tall steel structures. |
