Regional Tour – Bahrain


Sunday, 2nd March 2008 (Sunday only)

Individuals are responsible for arranging their own air transportation and hotel reservations.

The maximum number that the tour could accommodate is 10.  Shoe sizes will need to be confirmed in advance so that the organizers can arrange PPE.

  • 8 AM  Convene at the site office of the Bahrain World Trade Center for introductions, project presentation, H&S briefing and kit-out.  (Simha Lythe Rao)
  • 9:30 AM  Tour of the Bahrain World Trade Center
  • Noon  Break for lunch.
  • 1 PM  Depart for Durrat Al Bahrain.
  • 1:45 PM  Arrive Durrat al Bahrain.  Introductions, project presentation, H& S Briefing and kit-out.  (Martin Norris / Terry Bradbury)
  • 2:30 PM  Tour of Durrat Al Bahrain.
  • 4:30 PM  Return to Manama.
  • 5:30 PM  Wrap up and dinner for those staying.

Accommodations:  The Sheraton Hotel is closest to the tour site.  Also nearby are the Radisson Diplomat, the Intercontinental and the Golden Tulip.  

Air Transportation:  Recommended airlines are Gulf Air or Emirates Air.

Visas:  Tourist visas can be obtained at the Bahrain International Airport or at the King Fahad Causeway for:  Citizens of the European community, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hong Kong.  Visitors who have been resident in the GCC for a minimum of six months, and who posses a return visa for the country of GCC residency.  All the above must have a valid passport and return ticket, they must have no criminal record or involvement in activities that could threaten public order or national security.  Visitors must not seek employment while in Bahrain.
